In his role as Deputy Internal Minister and Head of the Criminal Police, he is responsible for the actions of the Ministry of the Interior and Criminal Police, and therefore responsible for the serious human rights violations and abuses of detained protestors and journalists, which were carried out following the election of 9 August.
