Description

UEA is seeking to appoint a contractor to provide compliant, safe and efficient management of its Waste Management contract. The successful contractor will satisfy the requirement for the provision of collection, disposal and recycling of waste generated by the UEA and associated sites whilst supporting the achievement of environmental and sustainability objectives. The Waste Management Service for UEA and is managed within the Estates Division, where the vast majority of waste produced is controlled waste and includes waste produced by office work, food handling, shops and other domestic activities. A large proportion of students live on campus and there is also accommodation for short-stay visitors' rooms. Other on-site facilities include the Sportspark, Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts, INTO UEA, Students' Union and a number of Catering and Retail outlets. As expected with multiple inhabited buildings for accommodation, research, commercial or administration purposes, maintenance and repairs are carried out on a regular basis, including replacement of furniture and fixings.
